Contemplations of Lockdown

So many voices
So much bad news
Its overwhelming…
Breathe…
Trust
Hope
Love
See
Gratitude
Friendships
Beauty
Grace
Family
Faith
Breathe…
I am so grateful, for all that covers the chaos, that reminds me of joy and beauty.
I am grateful for the small gifts from friends and family (like these lavender and wattle) that make each day pass more easily.

Persistent Swallow

Abstract, Acrylic Painting, Floral, Mixed Media, Originals For Sale, Splatter

This artwork is part of my splatter art series. It brings me so much joy, to literally throw paint on the canvas, and is a At our local shops there are the most adorable little swallows that roost in the eves. No matter how many spikes have been placed there, pretend snakes put up, these gorgeous little birds can not be persuaded to move on. While it may not be the best for the businesses, they are so beautiful and a highlight of our visit; when we can spot them.

Framed in a painted white, lovingly made (by me) Tasmanian oak floating frame.

A Fresh Start

Acrylic Painting, Realistic, Sold

This is part of a beautiful local bush walk, behind a major Sydney hospital. You would never know such beauty exists, so hidden and so gorgeous behind a car park. It is also a local hang out for a variety of owl species.
I find it endlessly inspiring, due to its lushness and the juxtaposition of it being so close to the highway. It is interesting how this oasis can be found so close and so many are unaware of it.

World Map

Mixed Media, Sold

I was inspired by the areal views of the world. I allowed the acrylics and inks to blend together, to twist and turn in an organic fashion, to mimc the flow of water and undulations of the land.
While the painting is narrower than an actual world map, it should be geographically correct.
I am a very practical person and I love the idea of functional art. This map combines both function and beauty. It is a very large piece and has great artistic impact. I loved the idea of having a painting while beautiful, serves to educate also. It has hung in our lounge room and I have enjoyed discussing geography with our kids, while watching the Olympics. If they ask where a country is we merely walk over to the giant world map and locate it.
