This mural was down for a public school. It has 26 different creatures to find, of varying sizes and species. It was great fun painting it while the kids at the school watched. I had a daily little audience of interested viewers. i loved the kids getting the opportunity to see an artwork be created and to see that a lot of hard work goes into it.
My favourite comment was from a boy going to OOSH early in the morning: “I want to be an artist like her one day.”
This was a commission piece made as a gift. I wanted to create a peace that took the receiver to her “happy place”, a place of peace and serenity.

This mural was done for the entry into a nursing home in Coffs Harbour. My Mum and I lived in this home while it was being built. Workman all around, fire brigade appearing unexpectedly, staying in the dementia ward, sheets as curtains.
It was a long process but a fantastic experience.
This was a commission, as a wedding gift. It was a family favourite holiday place, with significant and special memories.
The request was made that it be colourful and not completely realistic. That works for me as I love outlandish colours, I see the world through rainbow coloured glasses.

My garden is so inspiring to me, I love the colour and evolving nature of it. These zygote cactus are so interesting and different. The intensity of the colour of the flower and the almost iridescent nature of the pink flowers never cease to amaze me.

I never thought I would have so much fun going dotty! My goal was to use every different colour of dots that Avery produces (not every size though).
I really doubted if I could do this, but it made me step out of my box and challenge how I created. It has opened a new world of ideas for me going forward.

I wanted it to have movement and an organic feel, so I used inks and acrylics and let them wander the canvas naturally.
