I was trying to paint another commission and really struggling.
I had the desperate urge to break free of expectations, to abstract and throw paint. I was in the need of some artistic relief.
This need to play, to be free, to get rid of the paint brushes, brought about two art works.

I never thought I would have so much fun going dotty! My goal was to use every different colour of dots that Avery produces (not every size though).
I really doubted if I could do this, but it made me step out of my box and challenge how I created. It has opened a new world of ideas for me going forward.

I wanted it to have movement and an organic feel, so I used inks and acrylics and let them wander the canvas naturally.
I love the beach and like so many people it is my happy place. The sunset and the beach is a beautiful combination that inspires hope for better days to come.
