I occasionally need to throw paint on the canvas to deal with the highs and lows of life and being an artist.
It is so interesting how one day, as an artist, I can feel on top of the world: the world is my oyster, then on other days, I can be crippled with not feeling good enough.
It is such a dangerous game, when you rely on people liking and buying your art to survive, but I have realised if I focus on that: on trying to please others, trying to get it right all the time, trying to be what others want or need me to be, then the highs and the lows are far greater. Where as if I focus on creating what is in me to create, if I just tell me story through art it is much better for me and I create better art in the end, even if it is a super wacky mix.
So this is me at the moment…splattered, all over the place, messy; full of highs and lows, full of blessings and speed humps, feeling a bit overwhelmed with it all, but always trying to look towards faith and hope.
A colourful, messy, mixed up, abstract me.
This painting is on a flat piece of canvas and will require stretching.
